Day 3 UP

We only rode about 100 miles today and all of it in heavy cold rain...sounds like fun doesn't it? Well it wasn't so we got a room in Mackinaw City. We can see the bridge from our room. I think this looks like it could be a neat town and we would go check it out if the sun was shining! Bob is napping...exactly what we should be doing on vacation! Hope the sun is shining tomorrow...

day 2 UP

We had a very weak signal yesterday, so I couldn't upload. We went through Sleeping Bear dunes. It was amazing! I hope the photos do just a little justice to what we saw. We had some really heavy rain in the morning & the rest of the day was nice. We stayed in Traverse City Michigan in a tiny cabin that I can only say was cute on the outside & way too expensive!

Vacation Aug 2011 Upper Peninsula

What a great day! We left the house this morning at 6:15 & made it to Grand Rapids by 4:30 CST...at least Bob did! Now the fun begins. I made it by taking the scenic route around 5:30...yes it was pretty exciting there for a few minutes!  Lets just say traffic was pretty heavy, rush hour Friday afternoon & I am following so I dont know where I am or where I am going....nuff said! No pictures today & all is well that ends well!  :o)

they said this is the tallest lighthouse in North America...I know my legs were weak by the time I got to the top...LOL!
